Our Story
One day, Mauricio, Santiago, and Ty went to play golf, but unfortunately, Ty forgot his golf shoes. Ty, having been an avid golfer his whole life, decided to go ahead and play in his tennis shoes. The round went on, and when it was over, Ty was surprised at how his feet did not hurt like they usually do at the end of a round of golf. Ty stated how he wished his golf shoes were as comfortable as his tennis shoes. He said he would prefer to use his tennis shoes if they could provide similar traction, stability, and grip to a golf shoe. After hearing that statement, Mauricio’s mind started racing. At the time, Mauricio was working at REI, an extreme outdoor sporting goods store, and had come across some devices that allow you to walk on snow and ice. Mauricio said it would be cool if something like that existed for golf: a detachable device that you can take on and off your shoes with spikes on the bottom that give the wearer/user enough traction, grip, and stability to simulate a golf shoe. Santiago jumped in and said it would be cool if the product would be elastic and accommodate a range of shoe sizes. Santiago said, “Why don’t we make something like that if it doesn’t already exist?” Thus, MyMullies was born.
